Brooks family papers, 1861-1865.

The collection consists chiefly of letters to and from William H. Brooks, Jesse S. Camac and members of the Brooks family. Content is usually personal and/or familial as related to service in the Union forces. Approximately 10 of the letters contain personal accounts of some of the routine, campaigns and battles of the Civil War. The collection contains some envelopes with Civil War patriotic covers, as well as a Bible, and an express receipt.
